Update on Lambert

Well it turns out Adam Lambert’s performance was a more riskay than I thought.

An ABC News spokesperson tells Access, “Given his controversial live performance on the AMAs we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”

Wow!! I completely agree with ABC’s decision. I mean I personally felt really uncomfortable with Lambert’s performance and I already knew what to expect.

Why being normal is not fair

Yesterday, Arnold Schwarzeneggar proved that no one is perfect, not even him. Although the unfortunate part is that we can get fined and he does not. I don’t mind when celebrities get caught doing the same illegal things that the rest of America gets caught doing. However, what I do mind is them receiving no consequences. Not cool. Whether its speeding or illegal parking, justice needs to be served!

Adam Lambert Crossed the line…

Former American Idol contestant, Adam Lambert, performed at the American Music Awards Sunday night. His performance was completely overboard. He not only shoved a guy’s face in his crotch and then proceeded to make out with the male keyboard player. If anyone had questions about his sexuality, the answer is crystal clear. ewwww!

Team Emmett

New Moon came out at midnight on November 20, 2009. Many die-hard fans camped out in cold weather waiting in lines to grab a good seat at the midnight showings on this movie! In the opening weekend, it passed $140.7 million in movie sales. I decided to wait until the movie theaters were less cramped with screaming teenage girls obsessing over Jacob every time he showed up on the big screen shirtless. I personally think Emett is way more mature than both of them. He rocks! I am going tonight with some girlfriends and I’ll be able to see if the movie lives up to the novel.

Goodbye Dell.

Back in 2006, when I graduated high school, my mother bought me a laptop for graduation. It has gotten me through these last 4 years of college, but now it’s time to buy a new one. Over the years, it has accumulated more than 1,000 papers and 200 power point presentations. Now it takes 10 minutes to load each website, but I now realize I’m not the only one. Turns out, one in three laptops die in three years. Guess I should be thankful for my Dell laptop because it’s lasted 3 1/2 years.

Canadian woman loses benefits over Facebook photo

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091122/ap_on_re_ca/cn_canada_facebook_insurance

This is the most recent example of people getting in trouble due to Facebook. This just reinforces the fact that you really do need to be careful about the information you put out for the public to see. Although social media is a great communication tool, it does put your personal life out for the world to see. Technically, once you post information, that information is owned by someone else and can be sold to third parties without your consent.

Careful what you post…

Rihanna finally speaks up

Early this year Chris Brown was accused of abusing singer Rihanna. Rihanna was shy about the topic, refusing to do any interviews but recently she decided to finally speak up. There is speculation that the only reason she is now going public is that her new album is coming out so she figured she would take advantage of the free publicity.

I am going to have to completely disagree with this theory. An abusive relationship is a serious and sensitive topic which can be difficult to discuss. Rihanna should not be criticized for only now being comfortable to come out to the media and relive the events that happened that night.

I think people should be more sensitive to the issue.

U.S texters send 4.1 billion text daily!

According to the biannual report put out by CTIA, in the past six months Americans have sent an estimated 740 billion text messages. Which is… 11.7 text messages a day for every man, woman, and child in the country!

This number increase along with the fact that the average length of a voice call decreased to just 2.03 minutes leaves me to believe that Americans in some sense seem to be getting less personal in their conversation.

Lost 6-year-old boy found in attic not in UFO hot air balloon

I am sure you are all aware of the Colorado incident that occurred last week when it was reported that a 6-year old boy drifted away from his backyard in a UFO shaped balloon. There has been lots of skepticism of whether this was an accident or if they family planned this incident in hope of getting a reality show.

Well joke or not, the Heene family is under serious investigation. The Federal Aviation Administration says they are facing a number of local charges including one violating the 5-mile flying balloon regulation that is in place.

These are some serious consequences for an attempt to get on television. What is this world coming to? By the way the 6-year-old boy was later found to be hiding in the attic. Why you would not search your entire house from top to bottom before making an assumption that your son is making an 80-kilometer flight is beyond me.

Dave Letterman sex scandal brings up concerns

Dave Letterman’s confession to having an affair with an employee has resurfaced an even bigger issue.

Sexual harassment in the workplace seems to be a popular issue among feminists. They believe it is unfair that women are not taken seriously in the working environment and have turned to sexual relations with males in order to advance in their professional lives. They think Letterman took advantage of his position with these sexual advances to his employee even if it was consensual.

Letterman has publicly apologized to his wife Regina and adds, “So let me tell you folks, I got my work cut out for me.”
